| 5/06 - Come join in for Summer! #1, This is the one-time-only invitational email for Summer UnOrganized Ultimate Frisbee. If you can't join us, or just don't want to, please disreguard this email. If you can't join us, you will be missed on the playing field. If you just don't care to, then I blow raspberries in your general direction… #2, Thank you for your continued interest. Since you're still reading at this point, I'll assume that you have at least a slight interest in joining us this season, so let me say, "all the cool kids are doing it" and "c'mon, you know you want to". #3, #3 is now depreicated. #4, About UnOrganized Ultimate: Historically we have played a few times each week, a Saturday morning game, and two weekday evening games. We play with relaxed Ultimate rules, relying on each player to call his/her own fouls, loose boundaries, and no stall counts. We request that everyone play each opponent to their skill level, keeping the game VERY open to newcomers. So even if you've never played before, and want to find a way to get the blood pumping, this may be exactly what you're looking for. If you want to hear more, please email me (kaap@uiuc.edu) or check out the web page that I try to keep somewhat updated (http://kaapfamily.net/ultimate.php). #5, Let me know if you want to be/stay on the list. Nobody will receive any further emails without such a request. For those of you I've heard from in the last week, you're already on the list, so skip to #6. Otherwise, let me know, ASAP, as we'll be quickly getting this thing going with the weather climbing right thru the 60's in the next few days. #6, Let me know WHEN you want to play! This is very important! Dwindling interest last season has made me thing that one weekday game may be all we can do. So vote early, and vote often to make sure that the day we choose is a day when you can join us! (If more than one day is possible, it will be done) Voting works like this: It is secret ballot, and don't worry about what anyone else is voting. I'll keep the polls open for about two weeks, so check your schedule. Early votes tend to determine the schedule, so do this as quickly as possible. EACH PERSON HAS 4 VOTES. Distribute your votes however you'd like. We play on Saturdays (unless there is a large outcry to change that), so vote among Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Generally weekday evening games are played from 5PM to 7PM, with adjustments as necessary if lots of people can't make it until 5:30 or so. |
